Multiple LCBO Employees Have Tested Positive For COVID-19 In The Last Week
Three Toronto stores have reported cases.
The LCBO has recorded more employees testing positive. Over the past week, there have been multiple cases of COVID-19 at the LCBO. Three stores have had confirmed cases since September 13, with the latest one reported on September 19.
In a September 20 news release, the Crown corporation wrote that an employee in Toronto had contracted COVID-19.
They worked at the 396 St. Clair Ave. W. location.
"Their last shift worked in-store was Saturday, September 12, 2020. The employee is self-isolating at home and we wish them well," says the statement.
The report did not mention if the store would be closing, although they are following advice from public health.
A few days prior on Thursday, September 17, two employees at separate locations also tested positive.
One incident was reported at Sheridan Mall in Toronto says a statement.
The last shift that the employee worked in-store was about a week prior, on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
The other case was reported at Yorkgate Mall and their last shift worked was Saturday, September 12, 2020.
The stores have been disinfected regularly since, and public health has not ordered the locations to be closed.
In a news release from September 13, the LCBO did report that due to a possible outbreak.
The store in Ottawa (665 Industrial Ave. in the Train Yards) was linked to an earlier confirmation which was reported on September 10.
The person that had initially tested positive was an employee; however, more cases were uncovered three days later on the 13th.
"Additional cases have since been reported. Due to the potential of an outbreak at this location, the store is closed until further notice," says the September 13 statement.
