A Toronto Nightclub That Hosted A 'Secret Party' Just Lost Its Booze Licence
Goldie allegedly let up to 150 people in via a back door.
Goldie, a Toronto nightclub on King Street West, has had its liquor licence suspended after throwing a "secret" indoor party that didn't follow health guidelines.
The withdrawal of the booze permit comes after Toronto Police Services (TPS) laid charges onon Friday, June 26.
According to TPS, there were about 125 to 150 people seen inside Goldie, a club that allegedly doesn't have any outdoor patio or seating area or even a permit for outdoor service.
Police also say that the venue let people in through the back door, and that there were no discernible social distancing measures enforced.
The owner, manager, and corporation will be charged with Fail to Comply with an Order Made During a Declared Emergency, notes Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission. The AGCO has also moved to permanently revoke Goldie's licence.
