It finally happened! This Schitt's Creek Emmy win is the first time the show has been awarded by the Television Acadamy during its six-season run. That's something to celebrate and the Levys are doing just that.

For die-hard fans of the show, it might be hard to believe that Schitt's Creek has never won an Emmy award before.

2019 was actually the first time the show had been nominated despite being on air since 2015.

Don't worry though, now you don't have to scratch your head any more about why the series hasn't taken home a trophy.

On September 17, Lisa Parasyn and Jon Comerford won in the Outstanding Casting For a Comedy Series category.

When the win was announced, Dan and Eugene Levy took to Twitter to share their excitement about this monumental first for the show.

Both father and son were so over the moon that part of their tweets in all capitals.

"I AM SCREAMINGGG," Dan tweeted.

He then congratulated both of the casting directors for getting Schitt's Creek its first Emmy win.

Eugene also offered his congratulations to the winners.

"So well deserved," he then said.

Plus, he added three exclamation points after that so you know he's excited.

For the 2020 Emmys, Schitt's Creek was nominated for 15 awards.

All four actors who play the beloved Rose family are up for a trophy.

Eugene is in the Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series category and Catherine O'Hara in the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series category.

Dan and Annie Murphy are both nominated in categories for their supporting roles.

The show is also up for Outstanding Comedy Series.

The Emmys air on September 20 and awards for acting, directing and series will be handed out but the creative arts categories are being presented before then.

Even though the show is over, there are still ways to keep the magic of it alive like heading to the community where it was filmed and getting the butter tarts Murphy is obsessed with.

You might even be able to find some real estate for sale there and pretend like you actually live in Schitt's Creek.
