The Florida Panhandle was shaken by a rare earthquake this morning, reportedly being felt all the way to the coast.

USGS data shows the quake was light, clocking in at about a 3.8 magnitude, which shook the Florida and Alabama line all the way to southern Orange Beach.

Fox 35 reports that earthquakes in Florida are quite rare due to the state’s geology.

The last reported earthquake in Florida was in 2019, in almost the same location as this newly reported one.
