Christmas markets, twinkling lights and cozy villages await in this festive Ontario destination. If you love holiday markets and small town charm, you'll want to head to this spot for some festive fun.

South Eastern Ontario is a holiday lover's dream come true.

The area is home to 38 Christmas markets that are "treasure troves of unique handcrafted gifts for loved ones on your holiday lists," according to the website.

You can find "lights aglow, delicious food for savouring, and the region decked out in its finest greenery and festive swag, local creativity is brilliantly showcased at holiday markets across South Eastern Ontario" this Christmas season.

The markets take place throughout November and December, featuring charming farm settings and historic downtown locations.

Some highlights include the Closson Road Christmas Crawl which leads to cute shops, wineries and more throughout PEC, the MacKinnon Brothers Holiday Market where you can enjoy sleigh rides, cookie decorating and country charm, and the German Christmas market at Amadeus Cafe.
