Looking for a dreamy beach destination in Ontario? This national park is a summer paradise and boasts an endless stretch of soft sand shores.

Nestled along the waters of Lake Erie, the park is a dreamy spot to visit during the summer is about a 3 and a half hour drive from Toronto.

Here you'll find 20 kilometres of silky shoreline that stretches into the crystal waters.

The park is also home to gorgeous hikes and attractions, including boardwalk trails and canoe tours.

Here's what to know about this gorgeous national park.

Point Pelee National Park, located in Leamington, sits at the southernmost point of the Canadian mainland and is Canada's "second smallest and most ecologically diverse national park," according to the website.

You can enjoy "turquoise waters and golden sands" on the west and east sides of the peninsula, which are surrounded by 20 kilometres of sandy beach.

The most popular swimming spots are Northwest Beach and West Beach. Swimming at the Tip is prohibited.

Aside from swimming, you can explore some of the trails through the park, such as the Marsh Boardwalk which is complete with an observation tower and telescopes.

The park is a designated Dark Sky Preserve and on select nights, you can stay late and enjoy the stunning stars above.

Other popular activities at the park include bird watching, cycling, camping and paddling.

If you're planning on visiting, it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance.
