Looking for a last-minute fall getaway with your favourite person? This enchanting Ontario destination is brimming with romance and is a dreamy spot for a day trip or weekend escape.

According to Destination Ontario, the Lake Erie ports of call are among "Ontario's best romantic getaways and vacation ideas this fall."

"With the throngs of summer beachgoers gone, the sandy beaches along the Lake Erie shoreline like Port Dover, Port Burwell and Port Stanley become the perfect destination for couples," Destination Ontario states.

You can enjoy tranquil towns and beautiful water views while exploring this destination.

Port Stanley is a charming spot to visit during the autumn months, when the area transforms with stunning colours and crisp fall air. According to the town's Facebook page, "the shops have pumpkin spice specials, autumn decor, fall clothing, and so much more."

Port Burwell is known as the "Jewel of Erie’s North Shore" and is "pleasantly quiet during the off-season," according to Elgin County Tourism.

The Lake Erie region is home to some drool-worthy restaurants that are dreamy spots for a date night, including The Windjammer Inn and David's Restaurant.

It's also home to some scenic trails where you can soak up the fall foliage, such as the Lynn Valley Trail and the Waterford Heritage Trail.

There are several other romantic places in Ontario to visit for a last-minute fall getaway. Spots like Elora, St. Jacobs and Port Hope are known for their cozy, picturesque atmospheres.
