Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Florida's COVID-19 recovery future looks promising, as the Sunshine State set another somber death record.

On Thursday, the state's department of health recorded 173 deaths, which set an all-time high for most reported in a single day.

Despite this increase, DeSantis continues to say that Florida is starting to turn a new corner. 

After two straight days of recording novel coronavirus cases under 10K, Florida dipped back into five-digit range on Thursday, recording over 10,200 cases.

Florida continues to be one of the new epicenter for the disease.
