Canada Post Apologizes After Accidentally Delivering A Shotgun To A Kid In Ontario

The company is blaming a "loose shipping label."

Canada Post is apologizing after it accidentally delivered a firearm to an Ontario child due to a package mixup. 

The incident, which occurred in Ottawa, resulted in a 12-gauge shotgun being handed off to an 11-year-old boy, according to CityNews.

Canada Post revealed to Narcity that the weapon was given to the child without an adult signature due to the company's "Knock, Drop and Go" rule.

"It appears that at some point during the delivery process, a loose shipping label got affixed to another parcel," Canada Post stated. 

"Our employee delivered the item following the instructions on that shipping label, which did not require Proof of Age," it added.
