The prime minister is restating to Canadians how important it is to stay at home if you’re sick right now.

In a press conference on April 6, he reminded everyone that the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit is still available to those who need it.

The benefit offers $450 per week post-tax to Canadians who are unwell, have symptoms or are self-isolating due to COVID-19.

“No one should be going to work sick right now,” he said, noting that the support had recently been extended so that claimants can get paid for even longer.

The PM stressed the importance of staying away from work if you’re ill, particularly as the country continues to deal with “a very serious third wave of this pandemic.”
