As Jagmeet Singh and Justin Trudeau aren't seeing eye to eye, the NDP leader said the Prime Minister is looking for an election but won't get one.

On Twitter, Singh posted a video and made it clear where he and his party stand on having a snap election right now.

"It has never been my goal to force an election," he said.

New Democrats will not give Prime Minister Trudeau the election he's looking for.

Jagmeet Singh

"I can't imagine how the Prime Minister of Canada would look those people in their eyes, people who are afraid and worried and say, 'I know you're worried and afraid but we're going to an election because I don't like a committee," he said.

He also called that outrageous and absurd.

During a press conference before the confidence vote, Singh also talked about the situation.

"New Democrats will not give Prime Minister Trudeau the election he's looking for," he noted.

According to Singh, the only way that an election will happen is if Trudeau chooses to do that and explains why.
