Ottawa police report that they are investigating the deaths of four cats in the city's west end.

According to police, responding officers recovered two deceased cats, which appeared to be intentionally killed, in the area of West Hunt Club Road and Woodroffe Avenue on Tuesday morning.

The gruesome discovery is far from the first, with police reporting two similar incidents back in early June.

"The other incidents reported appear to have either occurred within City of Ottawa park space, or along bike paths/Hydro Corridors primarily in the area bounded by Greenbank Rd, Baseline Rd, Merivale Rd and Hunt Club Rd.," an excerpt from a news release reads.

The Ottawa Humane Society announced that it is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who has information on the alleged cat killer.
