The latest photo on Sophie Grégoire Trudeau's Instagram was posted to bid farewell to 2020. Although the picture is hilarious, her message about the year is touching.

On January 1, she shared a photo of herself with a cutout image of someone else's mouth and captioned it, "Grrr… bye bye, 2020!"

Even though she's not making the expression with her own mouth, Grégoire Trudeau furrowed her eyebrows to complete the funny face.

In the rest of the caption, she said that 2020 "was tough for many people" and acknowledged that it took both strength and humour to get through the year.

"So let's push forward and continue to help out our friends and neighbours," she added.

Grégoire Trudeau said she also wants us to make time for laughter in 2021.

She then wished everyone good health and a happy new year.

Her husband, Justin Trudeau, also recently shared his plans for 2021 and described "a renewed sense of hope" ahead of the future.
