Putting Up Christmas Decorations Early Is Scientifically Proven To Make You Happier

'Tis the season to be jolly. Well, almost.  

Now that Halloween is officially behind us, Canadians can now think ahead to the holiday season and about putting up Christmas decorations.

However, there's a bit of debate about when to do it.

For Canadians who are desperate to decorate but wonder if it's too early to break out the Christmas lights, science is on your side.

That's because decking the halls sooner than expected is apparently good for you according to experts and studies. 

One well-known study from the Journal of Environmental Psychology has shown that putting up decorations on the outside of your home can make you appear welcoming and social.

"It helps build a sense of community and belonging and all those things are associated with happiness too," Amy Morin, a psychotherapist told ABC News last year.

However, it's not all glitz and glamour because some Canadians believe that lighting everything up too soon in November could come off as disrespectful if done before Remembrance Day.

Many Canadians believe that others should wait until at least after November 11 to embrace the holiday spirit. 

Ultimately, there's no right answer so flip that switch whenever!
