Someone literally asked for a hamburger. 🤯

Alberta RCMP is sharing reasons not to call 911 by revealing some of the most ridiculous non-emergency calls that have come in during the last year.

This initiative is meant to help people realize what's considered an emergency and when they should call.

More than 890,000 calls to 911 came through in Alberta throughout the past year and these are some of the most outrageous ones:

  • "My phone settings are all in another language, how can I change it back?"
  • "Can you bring me a hamburger? I am hungry and cannot drive!"
  • "I need you to stop my teenage son from vaping!"
  • "My neighbour is plowing snow incorrectly!"
  • "The neighbour's kids strum the guitar every time I go for a smoke. No matter what time of day, this has been ongoing for three months since the start of lockdown."

Also, RCMP said that multiple people called to report "suspicious satellites" during a SpaceX launch.

The RCMP is reminding people that 911 should only be dialled in emergency situations "when public or personal safety is at risk or a crime is in progress."
