Check under your bed and in the back of your parent's closets! A retro Super Mario Bros. Nintendo game just sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars at auction and you could have one lying around at home.

According to from Heritage Auctions, the $660,000 USD sale is the most ever paid for a video game, surpassing the previous record of $114,000 USD.

This shrink-wrapped version of the Nintendo game first went on sale in 1986, before the packaging was updated in early 1987. It was professionally graded and was given a score of 9.6/A+, making it "the finest copy known to have been professionally graded for auction."

The auction company revealed that the unopened game was purchased as a Christmas gift back in 1986, but had been left untouched in an office desk until the seller found it earlier this year.

While it’s unlikely you’ll have this particular version hiding in a desk drawer, it’s worth double-checking your old Mario games for $660,000, eh?
