With the U.S presidential election fast-approaching, Americans aren't wasting any time getting their votes in early, including Vancouver-born Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds, who voted for the first time in the U.S. today.

Reynolds took to Instagram to share a post, commemorating the occasion alongside his ballot and his wife, Blake Lively.

Like everything else he writes on social media, his caption was obviously, hilarious.

"This is my first time voting in America," he captioned the pair of photos.

"I’d like to thank my wife Blake for making my first time so gentle and loving," he joked.

"It was super scary at first, then exciting and now I’m a little tired. But proud."

While this was his first time voting outside of Canada, Reynolds has been encouraging his fans and followers to get their votes in early for months.

Back in September, on National Voter Registration Day, he shared a video on Instagram explaining why the fate of American lives depends on them exercising their right to vote, "no pressure."
