This Starbucks Canada "Hack" Will Score You A Free Drink

But only for a limited time!

Drink up! Starbucks has almost reopened all of its stores in Canada so far but there are measures still in place. To promote contactless service, the café strongly recommends using their mobile app to order. To sweeten the deal, Starbucks Canada's free drink deal will score you a free beverage, but only for a limited time.

To take advantage of this offer, you must first download the free Starbucks app and create an account to join the loyalty program.

Once you go into the app, you will then have to click on the “Scan” tab. There you can add anywhere from $10 to $100 to a virtual Starbucks card.

As a new member, after making your first purchase - of any amount - you will automatically receive 150 award stars. But you have to make that first order before June 30, 2020.

That's enough reward stars for a free drink of your choice, according to the reward program's website. Or if you're feeling hungry you could also redeem them for an oatmeal or breakfast sandwich.

This promotion only lasts until June 30 but has been on since May 25. So if you coincidentally created an account and made a purchase in the past month you can check your account and see if you already got enough points for a freebie.

The promotion also coincided with the launch of the coffee chain's summer drink menu, which was also announced back in May.

This new menu includes a number of drinks made with coconut milk.

If Starbucks isn't your cup of tea there are other chains with drink offers on this season.

McDonald's Canada has dollar drink days starting on June 29 and you can score iced coffee, fountain drinks, and more for just $1 or $2.
