Newfoundland & Labrador Is Turning Into Neverland For A Disney Movie This Summer

"Disneyland is coming to Newfoundland... and Labrador," the province's premier said.

If you watch Peter Pan & Wendy on Disney+ when it comes out, you'll be able to spot Newfoundland & Labrador as it will be transforming into Neverland.

Premier Andrew Furey announced on June 29 that "Disneyland is coming to Newfoundland... and Labrador" this summer to film the new live-action movie.

"Walt Disney Pictures chose Newfoundland & Labrador for our breathtaking scenery," Furey said.

A cast and crew of about 150 people, which will include local technicians, artists and film workers, will be working together to shoot the live-action movie. Filming will happen throughout the month of August at different locations in Newfoundland & Labrador.

In January 2020, it was revealed that filming would take place in Canada later in the year but then that was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alyssa Wapanatâhk, a Cree actor from Alberta, has been cast as Tiger Lily in the movie.
