If you’re looking for a new way to make a day at your favorite Florida beach even more memorable, then look no further than a horseback ride near Tampa with CPonies. Take the bliss of the seaside combined with the magic of horseback riding and you’ve got yourself one heck of a beach day. To top it all off, you’ll be riding rescue horses that just got a new lease on life!

Carmen Herrmann Hanson comes from a family of horse trainers, and in lieu of showing horses in the scorching summer heat, she uses horseback swimming not only for the fun of guests, but to keep the horses in tiptop shape.

After rehabilitating neglected and abused ponies and horses, Carmen introduces them to her herd of CPonies that guests can ride through the gentle waves of Bradenton, Anna Marie Island, and Tampa Bay.

There are several packages riders can choose from. The Platinum Excursion lasts 1.5 hours and runs for $140.

You’ll be given a brief swimming lesson before hitting the water, where you’ll hold tight to the horse’s manes as they cruise through the Palma Sola Bay. You might even catch of glimpse of some manatees!

There's also the Sunset Platinum Excursion for $165, where you can enjoy a gorgeous Florida sunset from the saddle.

For a dryer experience, you check out the trail rides through Deer Prairie Creek Preserve and Alafia River State Park Trail.

Whether you go it alone or make a romantic date day out of it, CPonies is the place to go for a magical once-in-a-lifetime horseback ride.
