With the Tim Hortons hot beverage giveaway starting again, there's a hack to get entries for the contest without having to spend money.

Originally, this contest started in March but it was paused after just two weeks because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This time around, about 4,780,194 prizes for free coffees or other hot beverages are still available to win.

Editor's Choice: Tim Hortons Will Be Testing Reusable Cups & Food Containers That You Actually Return

October 28 the hot beverage giveaway restarts at Tims

The contest resumes at just after 12:00 a.m. ET on October 28 and will run until all prizes have been given away which is expected to happen by November 6.

When you buy an eligible hot beverage in-store, your Tims Rewards card is scanned and you'll either be randomly selected a winner which means your drink is free or you'll lose and have to pay.

If you don't have a card, a QR code is scanned at the cash register.

Eligible drinks are any size Tim Hortons coffee or hot beverage excluding espresso shots or Take Twelve coffees.

There's actually another way to play with no purchase necessary.

To get an entry, you can send a request in writing that includes your first name, last name, phone number and mailing address before the contest ends to Tim Hortons RUTR 2020 Contest – HOT BEVERAGE IN RESTAURANT, PO Box 12231, Saint John, NB E2L 5E7.

You can also win prizes without spending a dime with the Monopoly game going on at McDonald's until November 9.
