Where is the best pho in Toronto? Many Vietnamese restaurants in the 6ix serve the warm dish, but apparently, some are better than others.

Someone posted to Reddit asking their fellow Torontonians, "What's the most consistently delicious pho spot in TO?"

Pho is a Vietnamese soup dish made with broth, rice noodles, herbs, and meat. It's the perfect warming meal on a cold winter day, but it's also a great dish if you're feeling a little under the weather or like you're lacking nutrients.

Alongside the question, the poster added: "For me, surprisingly, it's Pho Train (sit down, not take out or delivery). I've tried other places and thought they were way better, but I went back a few times later and it didn't hit the same. Pho Train [also known as Pho Xe Lua] is just so consistent."

Over 300 comments later, the people have spoken, sharing what they believe are the most "consistent" pho restaurants in Toronto.

Based on the most popular spots from the thread, here are seven of the best pho restaurants in Toronto, according to local fans of Vietnamese cuisine.

Pho Anh Vu

Address: 3200 Dufferin St, North York

Why You Need To Go: This pho restaurant isn't in the downtown core, but if you're hoping to grab a hearty meal and have some fun afterward, it might be worth the trek.

Located close to the Playtime Bowl & Entertainment and Yorkdale Mall, Pho Anh Vu is a great place to visit for some cheap food and delicious bites after a day of shopping and bowling.

"As a Vietnamese, the only acceptable place that I can even want to eat and closest when [it] come[s] to taste is Pho Anh Vu by Yorkdale. The rest is mid," a Redditor said.

Another person said: "Their portions and serving sizes are crazy, too. Pricier than most places BUT you get more bang for your buck as far as toppings go."

"At the moment, in terms of authenticity with [the] best execution for flavour, by far and away right now is Pho Anh Vu," added another Redditor.

Pho Con Bo

Address: 58 Beverly Hills Dr, Toronto

Why You Need To Go: This spot has two locations, but as one Redditor said, "The other shop near the vicinity doesn't match it."

If you wish to dine in at Pho Con Bo, you'll have access to a cheaper menu than the pickup version.

You can make a reservation online and choose from a variety of dishes, including Phở Tái, Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả Trứng and Phở Đặc Biệt.

Que Ling Vietnamese Cuisine

Address: 248 Boulton Ave, Toronto

Why You Need To Go: If you're looking for something in the east end of Toronto, Pho Que Ling could be an option.

"I'm Viet and my favourite is Pho Que Ling, Gerrard East area," said one Redditor.

However, "Believe it or not though my favourite Viet place in Ontario is Thuan Thanh in London, Ontario. Could get full for $12 there," they added.

It's worth noting that Pho Que Ling is cash-only, according to a review on Restaruantji.

Pho Linh

Address: 1156 College St, Toronto

Why You Need To Go: Pho Linh is a spot that the Redditors mentioned a few times.

"My church, my true God and saviour," said an advocate for the spot.

Star chef Matty Matheson even featured the restaurant in an Instagram post, and the pho looks scrumptious.

The restaurant also offers a Pho Bo Kho special, which, compared to regular pho, has a deeper umami taste because of the tomatoes and fish sauce in the broth.

"I'm Viet and ever since I was a toddler, my parents took us to Pho Linh. We'd split a large bowl of pho ga and a plate of banh cuon with the fried prawn cake. Perfect meal!" a person said.

Pho Metro

Address: Multiple locations

Why You Need To Go: There are various Pho Metro spots in Toronto and the sentiment on the Reddit thread suggests it's "always consistent and hits the spot!"

Most people are repping the Scarborough location, so if you're trying this for the first time, it might be smart to head to 2057 Lawrence Avenue East.

"We pride ourselves on making some of the most delicious Vietnamese dishes like Pho, Broken Rice, Hue Style Spicy Noodle, Spring Rolls, and Vermicelli Soup," they state on their website.

Since 2010, they've opened four locations, all of which serve authentic Vietnamese food.

Pho Real

Why You Need To Go: Pho Real is located in Woodbridge and was mentioned a few times in the Reddit thread.

It's important to note there are two spots with the same name, one in Fonthill and the other in Vaughan — but the Reddit comments were talking about the Vaughan spot.

From Bahn Mi to buns, beef noodle soup, rice dishes and more, this Vietnamese restaurant has it all for an affordable price.

They don't have a website, but you can check out the menu on Restaurantji, where customers have posted the offerings online.

If you go on a warmer day, the outdoor seating is elevated above the ground, which gives you a great view to people-watch on a Sunday.

This is also a cash-only restaurant, so leave your cards at home and withdraw money before heading to this spot.

They've got an eight-page menu that includes buns, pho, noodles, curry and other food items.
