Andresscu, who rose to fame in 2019 after winning the U.S. Open, was as gracious as always during her post-game remarks.

"I feel pretty damn good,'' Andreescu said during an on-court interview.

"I mean today's match wasn't easy at all and I'm super, super happy with how I fought it out, especially towards the end," she added.

The tennis icon beat Buzărnescu 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in a difficult match in the first round of the Australian Open.

Bianca will play Hsieh Su-Wei in the second round on Tuesday, a match she's looking forward to.

"Hopefully next match I can raise my level a little bit more," she told reporters.
