Well, that was a bumpy ride that Canada's Wonderland guests and employees were probably not expecting.

A video posted on r/Ontario on August 30 shows strapped-in rollercoaster riders watching a Maury-like fight scene between an agitated guest and Wonderland staff after the guest allegedly refused to wear a mask. The guest has since been arrested for assaulting two employees.

"On Saturday, Aug. 28 at approximately 3:50 p.m. there was an altercation involving a guest and several associates at the Behemoth rollercoaster loading station," a spokesperson to Canada's Wonderland told Narcity via email. "Park associates, security, and police responded quickly and appropriately, the guest was removed from the park and arrested by York Region Police."

Right at the beginning of the video, the guest wearing a blue T-shirt can be seen striking a Wonderland employee right in the face before shouting, "Don't put your f—ing hands on me, bro."

Fed up with the increasingly violent visitor, Wonderland staff rallied together and pinned the man down to get things under control. Passengers strapped into their seats on the rollercoaster broke into applause and cheered.

Wonderland staff managed to keep the man on the ground until park security arrived.

"Those kids are heroes," one Reddit poster wrote.

York Region Police told Narcity that officers responded to reports of an assault taking place at Canada's Wonderland.

"An intoxicated adult male had been yelling and screaming, then assaulted two employees at one of the rides," Constable Laura Nicolle shared with Narcity via email.

Robert Richards, a 26-year-old from Vaughan, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

"The safety and security of our guests and employees is our highest priority," Canada's Wonderland told Narcity.

Narcity reached out to verify whether the altercation occurred over wearing a mask, but neither Canada's Wonderland nor the police could confirm this.
