This Is When High Park Will Get Its Cherry Blossoms This Year According To An Expert

Let the countdown begin! 🌸
Staff Writer

Spring really must be here, because we're just a few weeks away from cherry blossoms blooming in Toronto again.

Steve Joniak, a Toronto sakura expert who has run a website tracking the blossoms for nearly a decade, says residents can expect to see the trees likely bloom right at the beginning of May.

Joniak says that date could change with a late freeze or snowfall, but he expects this year to go the same way that most years typically do for the blossoms.

Joniak believes that Torontonians will probably experience the blossoms virtually like they did last year when the city put up fencing to limit crowds in High Park.

City of Toronto communications representative Jaclyn Carlisle told Narcity that the plan for this year's cherry blossoms in High Park is still being developed in advance of a bloom between late April and mid-May.
