COVID-19 Cases In McDonald's Has Forced A GTA Location To Shut Its Doors

One popular establishment has closed its doors. Two possible COVID-19 cases in McDonald's at Richmond Hill have been reported. 

The location at 420 Hwy. 7, east of Valleymeade Drive closed on Tuesday for a deep clean, CP24 reports.

All crew members who may have been in close contact with the employees have been asked to self-quarantine.


McDonald's Canada

All employees who were in contact with those who may have COVID-19 are now being told to self-quarantine. 

It is also asking those who visited between September 9 and 11 to follow protocols and monitor themselves for symptoms.

This isn't the first time a McDonald's has had to close. Last month, another Toronto area location shut down for the same reason.

Starting Wednesday, September 22, Ontarians are expected to show their proof of vaxx to enter certain non-essential businesses and settings. However, because enhanced vaccine certificates with QR codes won't come into effect in the province until October 22, a team of volunteer software engineers and medical professionals created a tool that lets you store your proof of vaccination on your phone with a QR code.

"No personal data is sent to the internet. [The] QR code is for verification only, with no personal info," the team behind the tool told CTV News.
