Shoppers Drug Mart stores will soon begin administering COVID-19 vaccines in Ontario 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at some locations.

A news release from the provincial government says that starting as early as April 21, 20 Shoppers Drug Mart locations will start administering doses around the clock, 16 of which will be in hot spot areas.

AstraZeneca will be administered at the participating pharmacies and therefore, only residents over the age of 40 will be eligible. The full list of 24/7 locations can be found here.

Additionally, the province says that vaccines administered at pharmacies will now be open for walk-in services — they recommend contacting your local pharmacy beforehand to find out whether they are taking appointments or walk-ins.

Also as part of the province's strategy to target hot spots, pop-up and mobile clinics are now opening in select postal codes and offering vaccine doses to residents over the age of 18
