John Tory Hopes Trump's COVID-19 Diagnosis 'Sends A Message To Everyone' In Toronto

Toronto's mayor hopes that a lesson can be learned from Donald and Melania Trump testing positive for COVID-19.

John Tory took to Twitter to send his regards to the President and FLOTUS.

"I wish President Trump & his wife Melania Trump a quick recovery from #COVID19," he wrote.

"I hope this sends a message to everyone across the US, here in Toronto and around the world."

If the President of the United States and his wife can get COVID-19, you can get COVID-19.

The news came early Friday when Trump took to Twitter to announce the positive results.

"Tonight, [FLOTUS] and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" wrote Trump.

At 74 years old, Trump falls into a high-risk category for those who contract the disease.

He has cancelled all of the public events he has planned.

According to the CDC, the United States has recorded 7,213,419 cases of COVID-19 so far.
