Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia received the chance of a lifetime over the weekend becoming the first fan to be honoured at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame.

The museum, which is located in Springfield, Massachusetts, celebrated Bhatia by setting up a display of his jersey and turban.

The 69-year-old, who has attended every Toronto Raptors home game since 1995, appeared visibly touched by the gesture in the photos of the ceremony.

"There is now a turban and the first fan honoured within Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame. I am overcome with emotions today," he wrote on Instagram.

"Basketball is what gave this immigrant a chance to belong," he added.
