[Chick-fil-A] has plans to open an additional 20 restaurant locations in the country by 2025. Chick-fil-A

The restaurants will be opening at Scarborough Town Centre's upper-level food court and at Queen St. West and Spadina Avenue in downtown Toronto.

Kitchener's location will be at 200-225 Fairway Rd. South. Chick-fil-A says that they'll create up to 250 full and part-time jobs for Ontarians.

Chick-fil-A's Canadian debut caused a big stir in Toronto back in September 2019 due to the company's million-dollar donations to anti-LGBTQ2S organizations.

Activists from Toronto-based groups like The 519 and Liberation T.O. led protests on the opening day of the Yonge Street restaurant.

The chain has since announced that it has stopped making these donations, and has committed $9 million to support education, hunger, and homelessness initiatives.

Chick-fil-A also opened a second restaurant at Toronto's Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

Like the existing locations, the new ones will be locally owned and operated, says Chick-fil-A.
