It might be time to check those forgotten pockets. Jose Lima, a 69-year-old retired electrician, won big after discovering an old winning ticket in a jacket that he had lent to his friend.

The Ontario lottery winner won $100,000 after matching six out of seven Encore numbers on the ticket he had completely forgotten about!

I feel wonderful. It’s something that happens once in a lifetime, if it ever happens at all."

"I thought I had won $1,000. Then OLG called and the other customers in the store started to congratulate me. It wasn’t until the validation slip came out that I realized I had won $100,000,” he stated.

As if the story wasn't heartwarming enough, Jose also told OLG that the only people he called to share the good news with were his kids.

The retiree used his winning to purchase a cottage, which he plans to use for leisure time and boating.
