Ontario Just Reported Nearly 2,500 New Cases Of COVID-19 & It's Breaking Records

Over 700 of those cases were in Toronto.

The province is breaking another record as Ontario's new COVID-19 cases hit an all-time high. 

On Thursday, Christine Elliott, Ontario's minister of health, announced that the province had reported 2,432 new cases.

2,432 New COVID-19 case in Ontario on Thursday 

Out of these, 737 were in Toronto, 434 were in Peel, and 209 were in York Region. 

The new daily number marks the highest amount of COVID-19 case that the province has seen in a single day since the start of the pandemic. 

To date, 148,967 cases have been reported province-wide. 

As the numbers continue to rise, multiple regions including Toronto, Peel, York and Windsor have been placed in lockdown. 

The move comes in an attempt to lower the spread of the disease. 

Elliott is reminding residents to continue to practice social distancing, stay home and wear a mask to help limit COVID-19 cases.
