Avoid This Road Like The Plague Next Time You're In Prince Edward County

It dethroned Eglinton as Ontario's worst road in 2021.

Toronto Associate Editor

One of Ontario's most charming wine regions is now known for having something ugly in the area, and it will make you clutch your precious pinot grigio for dear life.

Victoria Road in Prince Edward County has been voted Ontario's worst road in 2021, according to online nominations and poll results from CAA. The street has made its debut on the ranking this year for its potholes and crumbling pavement, which Ontarians evidently consider the worst in the province.

Carling Avenue in Ottawa took home the silver, while Barlon Street East in Hamilton snagged the bronze medal.

Toronto's Eglinton Avenue East was ranked in fifth place. The road, now famous in the city for being in a perpetual state of construction, was voted the worst road in all of Ontario in 2019. This year, it also came in first place on Toronto's worst roads ranking, above Eglinton Avenue West, Weston Road, Dufferin Street, and Bathurst Street.

The top 10 worst roads in 2021 are as follows:

  1. Victoria Road, Prince Edward County
  2. Carling Avenue, Ottawa
  3. Barton Street East, Hamilton
  4. County Road 49, Prince Edward County
  5. Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto
