This will delay the expansion of social circles.

As COVID-19 cases in Ontario continue to rise, the province is putting a pause on reopening.

Ford announced on Friday that it would be extending its pause of the reopening of Ontario for another 28 days.

The move will delay the reopening of businesses, facilities, and organizations that have yet to open their doors.

We also have to extend the pause on the reopening of additional business and facilities for another 28 days.

The order will also halt social circles from expanding into larger groups.

"As much as possible, we also need to limit close contact with anyone outside your households," Ford stated.

The premier also mentioned that the government would be tightening COVID-19 measures in the province's hot spots.

Ottawa, Peel, and Toronto will be reducing occupancy at restaurants and bars to ensure patrons can maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from each other.

"These are difficult, but necessary decisions that are being made to keep people safe," said Minister of Health Christine Elliott.

"Everyone must follow the public health guidelines if we are going to stop the spread and contain the second wave."
