The shopping malls in York Region have been open for two weeks now, but the lineups at Vaughan Mills make it look like malls opened this morning.

Videos and photos from the shopping mall on Sunday, March 7, show long lineups that wind their way around the building at more than one entrance.

York Region is in the Red Zone, which means malls and non-essential retailers can stay open with 50 percent customer capacity indoors.

One video from earlier on Sunday afternoon showed the line in full swing, with customers wrapped up in winter clothing.

Alexiah Edwards told Narcity the line she filmed had been in place for about an hour.

Another customer in line told Narcity that they had been waiting for 30 minutes to get into the shopping mall.

On Monday, March 8, Toronto and Peel Region will join York and also have their shopping malls and non-essential retailers open for indoor shopping again.
