We might still be months away from seeing the Toronto Maple Leafs hit the ice again, but that hasn't stopped fans from getting hyped up about Wayne Simmonds.

Simmonds, who the Leafs signed to a one-year contract for $1.5 million last week, is as homegrown as they come and was raised in Scarborough.

He's such a local that he and his wife even chose to get married in Toronto back in 2018, and the ceremony looked unbelievable.

The pair were married at the Four Seasons in Yorkville, a classy hotel located in the heart of one of the city's most upscale neighbourhoods.

According to Rachel A. Clingen, who planned the event, the couple opted for a less traditional wedding.

"A chic black and white palette gave their wedding an edgy look while maintaining pure sophistication. We designed a modern wedding canopy for the couple with a chrome linear structure," Clingen wrote on her blog.

Simmonds recently earned the respect of Toronto fans after turning down a big-time offer in Montreal to play for the team.
