Netflix's New True Crime Show Follows Chilling Unsolved Mysteries From All Over The World

Can you crack the case? In their latest project, Netflix will be taking viewers around the globe as they explore unsolved mysteries and unexplained events that have happened to ordinary people. The series is called Unsolved Mysteries, and it’s coming to the streamer next month.
If the title of this show sounds familiar to you, that’s no coincidence. The original Unsolved Mysteries series aired for 14 seasons, from 1987 until 2010, and now, Netflix is bringing it back.
In the recently released trailer, viewers are introduced to several people who have lived through unthinkable events such as paranormal encounters, or unexplained disappearances of loved ones.
Those who have experienced the horrific events sit alongside detectives and journalists as they recount their stories, present clues, and identify suspects, all in hopes that one of the viewers out there may have an answer.
According to PEOPLE, the original series helped solve over 260 cases, including a recent one that had been ongoing for 30 years.
The OG show provided viewers with a hotline where they could send in tips, and the Netflix revival will follow suit with a website for anyone with relevant information.
Unsolved Mysteries comes from Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove, who worked on the original series.
For the latest edition, they’ve teamed up with the creators of the hit Netflix original series Stranger Things.
"We've staffed up to ensure that leads are quickly passed to the appropriate parties," Meurer and Cosgrove told PEOPLE
The first season of Unsolved Mysteries will consist of 12 episodes, each of which digs deep into a different case.
What makes the show even more interesting is that it tells stories from all over the world.
The first six episodes will hit the streamer in July and include the mysterious death of a newlywed, a UFO sighting in Berkshire County, and the disappearance of a murder witness.
Unsolved Mysteries is coming to Netflix on July 1. You can check out the chilling trailer for the show below.
