Smokey Skies In Metro Vancouver Caused Some Work & School To Be Cancelled

A mixture of wildfires in the U.S. and local blazes have caused B.C.’s air quality to become so bad that some people aren’t going to school or work on Monday, September 14.

For example, according to a tweet released by Canada Post, workers in the central and southern parts of the province have suspended delivery for the day because the air quality has created unsafe work conditions. 

The Regions of BC…are likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24 to 72 hours.

Not only are people not going to work, but the New Westminster school district announced that three schools have suspended all classes on Monday, September 14 due to toxic smoke from the New Westminster Pier fire.

Environment Canada currently has 42 air quality statements issued for the province of B.C.
