A Canadian city has the worst transit commute time in the US and Canada and it's not Toronto
People here are spending 1 year and 8 months riding transit in a lifetime.🚆

Vancouver public transit.
One Canadian city has been ranked as the worst in Canada and the U.S. for transit commute time, and surprisingly it's not the hub of Toronto.
Transit commuters in Vancouver are the ones losing the most time, according to a recent study. The study found that transit users in the West Coast city have a commute time of 60 minutes — which is the average time it takes to commute one way, including wait times.
That adds up to one year and eight months spent riding TransLink, in the average Metro Vancouverite commuter's lifetime.
Moovit analyzed data from 50 cities in 17 countries to find transit trends and discovered that two of the top three "longest transit commute times between Canadian and American regions" were both in Canada.
Vancouver came in at first place at 60 minutes, but Toronto was right behind at 55 minutes. That means that the typical Toronto public transit user will spend one year and seven months riding transit in a lifetime.
All in all though, the study found that Mexico City has the longest commute time, at 67 minutes, which equals out to one year and 10 months spent riding transit in an average lifetime.
As for what might help transit riders in Canada get some time back, Moovit said that the biggest issues to address are the frequency of vehicles, cost fares, and reliable arrival times.
