BC Extends Emergency Until September 1 & Warns Of More 'Enforcement' To Come

Once again, the state of emergency in B.C. has been extended to help protect the public from COVID-19 — this time until Tuesday, September 1.

On Tuesday, August 18, Premier John Horgan released a statement that showed him and Mike Farnworth, B.C.'s Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, were through playing Mr. Nice Guy.

Horgan said that on the whole, British Columbians are following Dr. Bonnie Henry's orders, however, the province is getting off track.

He said that "unsafe" gatherings and parties were "eroding" the hard work we've all done to stay safe and now they "will be announcing enforcement action against those who continue to put others at risk."Farnsworth is expected to announce what those new measures will be later this week to "address the actions of those who demonstrate their indifference to the health and safety of others."
