Plus boozy secrets just outside of the city.
Weekend Things To Do In Vancouver If You Love The Outdoors, August 21 to 23

Another week is almost in the books and it's time to start planning what your Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are going to look like. We're bringing you the best weekend things to do in Vancouver with a little outdoorsy twist. There's nothing worse than sleeping in and missing out so make sure you have a little something planned for you to do to get the most out of summer.

This week has been hot, hot, hot. Beaches have been absolutely packed with sunseekers lately, but if you're desperate to take a dip then there are still a few places lightly less packed than English Bay or Kits.

If you're getting stir crazy in the city, then it's time to rent an EVO and hit the road. Right now, the Fraser Valley is bursting with late-summer bounty and it's all yours if you want it.

The sunflowers are almost in full bloom and even apples are starting to ripen on the trees.

But our absolute favourite outdoorsy activity has to be eating en plein air — dining al fresco if you will.

Whether you throw a bologna sandwich into your beach bag and call it a picnic or order margaritas on a patio, Vancouver has literally hundreds of ways to eat outside this summer.
