25 BIPOC Women From This Season Of 'The Bachelor' Shared A Powerful Message About Racism

"We are deeply disappointed."

The current season of The Bachelor starring Matt James has sparked widespread conversations about race for several reasons.

While Matt is the first-ever Black bachelor and there are 25 BIPOC women on the show, recent comments made by host Chris Harrison have provoked a public outcry for the show to do better.

Speaking in an interview with former The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay, Harrison defended a current contestant, Rachael Kirkconnell, who has been accused of cultural appropriation and posing in front of a confederate flag in past Instagram posts.

Kirkconnell has been accused of racist behaviour by TikTokers who have taken deep dives into her social media posts from past years.

When Lindsay brought up a post of Krikconnell's that showed her at an "Old South" party, Harrison defended her, saying that the "woke police" are out on social media.

Chris Harrison has since issued a public apology.

Now, the women of Bachelor Season 25 are speaking out in response.

The post says that "any defense of racist behaviour denies the lived and continued experiences of BIPOC individuals."

They continue by expressing their defence and solidarity with Rachel Lindsay.

"We stand with her, we hear her, and we advocate for change alongside her," the post concludes.
