I tried one of Canada's 'best brunch spots' near Toronto and the $49 AYCE was SO worth it

I might have just found my new favourite brunch place.

Sunday brunch is a cherished weekend ritual for me, and I'll gladly set my alarm if it means warm cappuccinos and stacks of fluffy pancakes.

During a recent trip to Guelph, my friends and I decided to check out an all-you-can-eat brunch spot and it turned out to be a total gem.

Bardō Guelph, formerly the Earth to Table: Bread Bar, serves up seasonally-inspired dishes from stone-baked pizzas to shared plates and more.

The venue was named among Canada's top 100 brunch restaurants for 2024 by OpenTable, as well as OpenTable's Top 100 Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Canada for 2024.

It's been a go-to dinner spot for my friends and I for years, but this was our first time visiting for the brunch.

The experience features a seasonally rotating selection of more than 30 classic and contemporary brunch items available from the buffet as well as a-la-carte.

Upon sitting down, we were offered boozy drinks as well as tea and coffee. Pear mimosa, anyone?

The buffet section is brimming with elevated dishes like yogurt parfaits, deviled eggs, pizzas and chocolate chia pudding. We helped ourselves to the spread and before long our plates were full of morning treats.

The a-la-carte section of the menu features sweet and savoury items such as eggs benny, fried chicken and waffle, buttermilk pancakes and French toast bread pudding.

You can order these throughout the meal and they are brought directly to your table. The servings are small so you'll have lots of room to try a number of dishes.

My personal favourites were the chia pudding, smoked salmon and almond financier cake.

The brunch costs $49 per person, which includes two boozy drinks and all-you-can-eat a-la-carte.

Considering the elevated dishes and cocktails, I found this a pretty good deal.

It's offered on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and you'll definitely want to bring your appetite.

As someone who loves brunch I can confirm: this spot has all the deliciousness any brunch fan could ask for.
