They are being recalled because they contain a higher concentration of benzalkonium chloride than permitted for personal or domestic (i.e., home) use and may pose health risks, particularly to children up to 12 years of age.

According to the recall, these types of products were distributed to kids in various schools around Quebec.
They were also sold in-store and online to the public, predominately in Ontario and Quebec.
The affected products are sold under a number of different names including:
- Anti-Microbe
- 32 Anti-Microbe
- Essence 360 Anti-Microbe
- Nutra One Anti-Microbe
- Paoch Anti-Microbe
- Produits Bio-Expert Anti-Microbe
- Trilux Anti-Microbe
- Yunisan Handzo
Apparently, products like this should be labelled for adult use and only be used in industrial settings.
The public is advised to stop using sanitizer that is labelled "anti-microbe" or has DIN 02248351 right away.
