Canada Says Benefits Of The AstraZeneca Vaccine Continue To ‘Outweigh Any Risks’

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has spoken out about the possible risks and benefits of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Canada.
In a new statement, the federal agency confirmed that there is a “possible link to a rare type of blood clots associated with low blood platelets.”

However, based on all current information, Health Canada confirmed “the benefits of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, in protecting Canadians from the severe outcomes of COVID-19, continue to outweigh any risks.”
It’s a message that’s been backed up by the prime minister, who recently reassured Canadians it was safe, despite some countries deciding to temporarily suspend its distribution.
“To say it simply, the best vaccine for you is the first one offered to you,” Trudeau said.
