If you're dreaming of a new place to call home, you may want to check out this Ontario region. With cozy markets, quaint villages, and scenic countryside, it ranks among Canada's most liveable destinations.

The Globe and Mail released its 2024 list of "Canada's Most Livable Cities", which aims to "help readers identify communities where they could thrive."

The publication ranked 448 communities across the country, evaluating them based on 50 factors in 10 categories, including transportation, amenities, and housing.

The township of Woolwich was among the 100 spots featured.

The rural area is home to beautiful countryside and several charming villages, such as Elmira and St. Jacobs.

According to a media release, the township is "known for its vibrant communities, natural landscapes, and commitment to sustainable growth. From thriving local businesses to top-tier services, Woolwich offers a unique balance of rural charm and urban convenience."

St. Jacobs boasts historic streets, cute shops and delicious bakeries. It's also home to the St. Jacobs Farmers' Market — the largest market of its kind in Canada.

Elmira is a cozy community with quaint shops and eateries. Its annual Maple Syrup Festival holds the title of the World's Largest Single Day Maple Syrup Festival in the Guinness Book of World Records.

There are many attractions to enjoy throughout the region, including local farms like Benjamin Tree Farm and Downey's Apple Farm, as well as adventures such as the Waterloo Central Railway and Sundance Balloons.

"We are thrilled to see Woolwich recognized as one of Canada's most livable communities," Woolwich Mayor Sandy Shantz said in the media release.

"Our township's commitment to fostering a safe, welcoming environment with accessible services and thriving businesses has helped us stand out on the national stage."

If you're considering a relocation, this picturesque township could be your dream destination.
