Tucked away in the mountains of Alberta is this charming small town, with picturesque streets lined with stores, endless views and glistening lakes. It's a place where you can escape into the great outdoors while being nestled in the comfort of amenities, and it was recently named among the most romantic in Canada.

Narcity readers shared where they think the most romantic towns in the country are, and Canmore, Alberta was put under the spotlight.

Imagine a day cozied up in a cabin, looking out the window to the jagged peaks surrounding the town. It's about as romantic as it gets.

Venturing outside you can enjoy the shops, restaurants and cute cafes in town — all with the backdrop of the iconic Three Sisters Mountain that overlooks the community.

If you're up for an adventure you can explore the iconic surroundings of the Rocky Mountains. Trails wind their way throughout the area, from easy ones like Grassi Lakes to more intense ones like Grotto Mountain Trail.

Canmore is just 20 minutes from the more popular town of Banff, so you can easily visit but skip out on the crowds that come with the hot-spot destination.

It's also just an hour away from Calgary, so it makes for the perfect weekend getaway destination.
