A new challenge the organization Canada Takeout is doing is to try and set a national record for the most takeout ordered across the country in a single day.

So Canadians are being asked to order from local restaurants for their meals on April 15 to help set this record

There's even a spot where people can submit their receipts to show that they ordered so that it counts towards the record.

Canada Takeout started the #TakeoutDay movement exactly one year earlier on April 15, 2020, to get people to support local eateries as they faced pandemic restrictions.

Thousands of restaurants shut down in 2020 all over the country and more have already closed their doors in 2021.
