When it comes to the Canada-U.S. border reopening, Justin Trudeau said that the decision will depend on vaccinations here and not in the States.

During CTV's Your Morning on March 12, the prime minister was asked what will happen with the border since the U.S. has a goal of vaccinating every adult by May and ours is by September.

Trudeau said that reopening the border factors in Canada's vaccination timeline and restrictions will continue to be extended.

He noted that his government will see what vaccinations look like, what case counts are, and what experts say when deciding on when border restrictions can start to be eased.

Recently, U.S. politicians sent a letter to President Joe Biden asking him to work with Trudeau to partially open the border by the end of May and fully open it by the beginning of July.
