There's a new way to celebrate cherry blossoms in Toronto, and it doesn't involve a trip to High Park. This dreamy festival is full of cherry blossom magic and will whisk you away to Japan.
SakuraFest is a brand-new annual festival launching at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) in Toronto. From April 17 to May 11, 2025, this flower-filled event combines the beauty of cherry blossom season with Japanese traditions.

Set amidst the JCCC's 100 enchanting cherry blossom trees, SakuraFest offers a range of events, from film screenings and art workshops to live performances and culinary pop-ups. You'll feel like you've been transported to another world as you step inside the Centre and experience the magic of hanami (flower viewing) in a new way.
"SakuraFest is more than a celebration of cherry blossoms—it's a celebration of connection, culture, and community," James Heron, Executive Director & Capital Campaign Consultant of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, said in a press release.
